Discovering Myself Every Day: A Journey Through Creativity and Mental Health
Every day, I discover new things about myself. Some days, I wake up with a burst of energy and motivation, ready to take on the world. Other days, it's a struggle to get out of bed and tend to my basic needs like taking a bath or cleaning my room. This ebb and flow of motivation is a part of my journey, and I'm learning to embrace it.
Lately, I’ve been finding immense joy in creating and designing. I've been working on new collections of t-shirts, posters, and greeting cards featuring my original paintings. Painting with acrylics has been a therapeutic outlet for me, allowing me to express my emotions and thoughts in a vibrant and tangible way. Additionally, I've been experimenting with AI to generate images, which has opened up new avenues for my creativity. Alongside these artistic pursuits, I've been writing picture books, channeling my imagination into stories that I hope will inspire and entertain others.
Living and thriving with bipolar depression, ADHD, PTSD, and anxiety is not an easy feat, but I'm doing it. These conditions can make daily life challenging, but they also shape my perspective and fuel my creativity. I've learned to accept my mental health as a part of who I am, and to use it as a source of strength rather than a hindrance.
One of the most important lessons I've learned is the value of finding joy and holding space for the things that bring me happiness. Whether it's creating art, spending time with loved ones, or simply enjoying a quiet moment to myself, these activities provide a sense of purpose and fulfillment. I urge you, whatever your struggles may be, to find the things and people that you enjoy and make time for them. Life is too short to be bogged down by negativity and stress.
Have fun, explore your passions, and surround yourself with positivity. Embrace the journey of self-discovery and let your creativity flourish. Remember, it's okay to have off days, but it's also important to celebrate the good ones. Keep pushing forward, and never stop discovering new things about yourself.
